Chad T. Barnicle

Chad T. Barnicle, 59, of Sebring, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 29, 2025. The past year was especially difficult for Chad as he suffered through many health issues. Chad was the son of Donald and Sylvia Barnicle, born and raised in Lorain, Ohio. He moved to Florida shortly after graduating from Lorain High School in 1983 to help care for his aging Great Aunt Peg and Uncle Bob and resided there the remainder of his life. Chad worked odd jobs in his early years in Florida; among them he served as a bouncer, worked for Taylor Rental and eventually secured a career becoming a specialist in Seafood Sales with Colorado Boxed Beef for thirty-five years. God gave Chad a special gift, the gift to gab. He used that gift to perfection! Over the years Chad would return to his hometown many times to visit with family and friends, hoping one day to return and make Lorain his home once again. He maintained a very good relationship with his childhood friends and old neighbors up until the time of his passing. He enjoyed spending evenings calling each of them to catch up and reminisce. Chad was an avid sports fan. He especially loved baseball, fishing, boating and being with his dog Ben. Chad leaves behind his two sons, Brock (Alyssa) and Chad Landan Barnicle, twelve grandchildren, sisters Diane “Dee” Vondrasek (Dennis), Coleen Falbo (John), Cynthia Waters (Kevin, deceased) and brother Chris Barnicle (Melanie), stepsons Kane (Summer) and Jonathon (Jenn) Sodrel of Sebring and his former wife Rebecca Sodrel Barnicle. In addition, Chad was an Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donald C. Barnicle, mother Sylvia M. Barnicle Hambly (nee Reed) and sister Connie Barnicle. Visitation will take place on Wednesday June 11th from 10:00 until the time of memorial services at 11:30 in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Reverend Daniel O. Divis, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
