Marcia Elizabeth Faris

Marcia Elizabeth Faris (nee Bremer), 85, of Lorain, died Thursday October 19, 2023 at her home while under the care of Cleveland Clinic Hospice. Marcia suffered from a long illness of Advanced Alzheimer’s Disease and Metastatic Cancer. She was born on August 23, 1938 in Lorain Ohio. Marcia was a lifelong Lorain resident. Marcia graduated from Lorain High School in the 1956 B Class. She attended Kent State University where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Education. Marcia taught at Irving Elementary School in Lorain for 2 years until her marriage and raising her family. She then was a Substitute Teacher in grades K-8 at several Cleveland Diocesan Catholic Schools and Lorain City Schools retiring after 30 years. Marcia was a member of St Peter Parish in Lorain. She loved being with her family and hosting family for the holidays. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing the piano. She is survived by her children: Amy Faris of Amherst, Andrew Faris of Nashville, Tennessee, Ellen Faris of Amherst, Julie Henderson of Simi Valley, California and Pam Faris of Lorain; grandchildren: Ana (Abby) Krafcik of Columbus, Alex Krafcik of Lorain, Aaron Krafcik of Elyria, Jack Henderson (fiancé Bethany) of Indianapolis and Jared Henderson of Los Angeles; sisters: Linda Shibley of Norwalk and Carolyn Stough (Bill) of Huron; sister-in-law Pat Bremer of Michigan, sister-n-law Marge Faris of Florida, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Thomas W. Faris in 2011; parents Victor & Irene Bremer (nee Conrad), brothers Louis Bremer & Noel Bremer, sister-in-law Dorothy “Dot” Bremer and brother-in-law Ron Faris. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 25, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 26, 2023 at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St Peter Parish, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev Craig Hovanec will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Memorial contributions can be made to St Peter Music Ministry or St Peter School.
