Joseph A DelMonico

Joseph A. DelMonico, 52, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday November 4, 2025 at his home while surrounded by his family after a 13-month battle with Glioblastoma. He was born June 13, 1973 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident. Joe graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst in 1991 and attended Lorain County Community College. Joe was an entrepreneur and business owner who started working at the age of 16 at Hands On Auto Detailing in Elyria. He later purchased the business from his boss and continued to operate it for 25 years. Later, he opened DelMonico’s Pro Shop at Slovak Lanes and Rebman Recreation where he offered a full line of bowling equipment and services to the bowling community. His love of the game and thirst for knowledge was evident as he attended many bowling trade shows such as the yearly International Bowl Expo. In addition to league bowling, he enjoyed casino gambling, car shows and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter Valentina. In 2025, Joe was elected to the Lorain USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife of nearly 29 years Connie DelMonico (nee Hepburn), son Luigino A. DelMonico (Brittany), granddaughter Valentina DelMonico, parents Joseph & Luigina DelMonico (nee Cafierro), maternal grandmother Maria Cafierro (nee Pecora), brother Giovanni DelMonico, mother-in-law Elaine Graves, father-in-law David Hepburn (Paula), step-father Rusty Groner and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Frank & Rose DelMonico (nee Vommaro), maternal grandfather Carmine Cafierro, brother-in-law Mike Bird and sister-in-law Michelle Lukco. The family will receive friends Sunday November 9, 2025 from 2:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be private. The DelMonico family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr Newton and UH Seidman center staff as well as the Western Reserve Hospice staff for their exceptional care.
