Lorraine E. Peacock

Lorraine E. Peacock (nee Blasiak), 89, of Lorain, died Tuesday March 12, 2024 at Mercy Health Lorain. She was born February 19, 1935 in Buffalo, New York and had moved to Lorain in 1959 with her husband and three children. In 1975, Lorraine received her Practical Nursing degree from St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to work at St Joseph Hospital and Community Health Partners Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 29 years before retiring in 1997. Lorraine was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain where she was a member of the church Altar & Rosary Society having served as president and treasurer. She was also a member of Holy Trinity Seniors, St Anne’s Lodge Branch # 114 and the Laureate Beta Eta Sorority where she was a past secretary. Later, she joined St Peter Parish in Lorain. Lorraine’s greatest joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, playing the piano and organ and communicating with her family and friends on her computer. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Price (Ronald) of Lorain and Ann Lubick (John) of St Cloud, Florida; son Karl Peacock (Deanna) of Amherst, 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother Donald Blasiak (Anita) of Buffalo and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Stephen H. Peacock in 2000, sons: Harleigh S. Peacock in 1986, David E. Peacock in 2021 and Stephen F. Peacock in 2023; granddaughter Kayla Peacock in 1990, grandson Tyler Peacock in 1998, her parents Frank & Anna Blasiak (nee Nagowski), sister Mary Hamsik in 2004, brothers-in-law Robert Hamsik and Irvin Angevine. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 20, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 21, 2024 at 9:00 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev Craig Hovanec, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
