Pauline Garcia

Pauline Garcia (nee Prieto), 92 of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Thursday October 24, 2024 at Lorain Estates Senior Living after living a full and happy life. She was born March 2, 1932 in San Marcos, Texas and had resided in Lorain since her arrival in the late 1940’s. Pauline worked as an insurance agent for over 40 years at Rieth Insurance on Broadway in downtown Lorain retiring in 1994. She met her husband, Richard, and they were married on June 11, 1955. Together they were blessed with two children, Richard Jr. (Lori) and Diana (Lesiecki), Grandchildren: Tim Garcia (Katie) of Schaumburg, IL, Renee Garcia of Hilliard, Chris Garcia (Britni) of Amherst, AJ Lesiecki (Mary) of Bowling Green and Jonathon Lesiecki (Brandy) of Erie, MI and great grandchildren: Maggie, Zachary, Harlow, Jensen, Jarvis, Davis, Jethro and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister Guadalupe Martinez of Lorain and brother John Prieto (Mary) of Oberlin. She was preceded by her husband Richard P. Garcia Sr in 2015 and her son-in-law David Lesiecki in 2014, brothers Alfonso Prieto, Theodore Prieto, Salvador Prieto and sisters Jessie Razo and Linda Delgado. Pauline was a very active member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Lorain, where she was a member of the Senior Sociables, Marian Guild, PTU, monthly Spaghetti Dinners where she was in charge of making the lemon squares, and a faithful member of the pierogi crew. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Chapel Guadalupe Society. In addition to her work in her Church, Pauline was very involved in a number of civic organizations in Lorain. She was a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Lorain International Association, as well as a past President. Pauline was also a former board member of Goodwill Industries, as well as the Lorain Senior Center. She took tremendous pride in being the past President, and ongoing member, of her beloved Mexican American Citizens Club. The family would like to thank the staff at Lorain Estates Senior Living and Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care of Pauline. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 10:15 AM until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Rev Edward Smith, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church.
