Primo Ortiz Jr

Primo "Juni" Ortiz Jr. slipped into the arms of our heavenly father on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the age of 55. Born on November 25, 1968, Primo was raised in South Lorain and was the eldest of four children. He held a special place in the hearts of his siblings and extended family. Primo graduated from Southview High School in 1987, where he was a proud Southview Saint, serving as his class President and band drum major. He continued his education at The University of Findlay and later at Kent State University. Known for his upbeat personality and ability to light up a room, Primo lived his life with a unique charm that brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. Primo was loving, caring, and giving, always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Primo cherished the company of his pets—both past and present. From Blanca to Rahja, Chico, Chula Luna, Chancho, and Cha Cha, each animal brought him joy and companionship. Primo was a member of Sacred Heart Church, where he found solace and purpose in giving back. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and his passions included photography, gardening, and feel-good music. As an employee of Ford Motor Company, he approached his work with the same love and dedication he showed in all areas of his life. Primo’s legacy of love and joy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Rest in peace, dear Primo Jr. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Primo Ortiz Sr. and Gloria Ortiz (nee Muniz), as well as his paternal grandparents, Jesus and Emilia Ortiz, and maternal grandparents, Rodrigo and Maria Julia Muniz and Catalina Muniz (nee Serrano). Additionally, he was preceded by his maternal aunts, Molly Negron (nee Muniz) and Gladys Reyes (nee Muniz) as well as his paternal aunts, Angela (Alejo) Mendez (nee Ortiz) and Dominga (Roman) Ayala (nee Ortiz). Primo is survived by his brother, Vier Ortiz, and wife Lori, along with their children Zach Hammond, Jasmyn, Meah, and Vier Angelo Ortiz. His brother, Enar Ortiz, and wife Jennifer, with their children Zamin and Kian Ortiz. His sister, Evelisse Rowser, and husband Roger Rowser, and her children Celinette Francisco and Tahlia (Andrew) Kovacs, as well as his great nephew, Shane Kovacs, and great nieces, Saige Kovacs and Tallulah Van Deest. The family will receive friends Thursday September 5, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Additional visitation will be held Friday September 6, 2024 from 8:30 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4310 Pearl Ave, Lorain.
